We are very pleased to welcome two new employees to the fold! Alex Kouzemtchenko and Fionnbharr Davies have joined the crew, adding to both our consulting capabilities and course development material. Both of these guys have already done some pretty awesome stuff within the security community, speaking at conferences such as Microsoft BlueHat, CCC, Ruxcon, Power of Community, and Kiwicon. (We will mirror some of the more recent presentations on this site shortly.)

Hopefully I will be able to coerce them in to posting some blog entries in the near future, so stay tuned :).

Hi everyone,

We started a company! And a blog! Our goal with this blog is to provide interesting technical tidbits we encounter during our work, as well as commentary on interesting security research and technologies as they emerge from the community. We used to blog from time to time on our book website (http://taossa.com), however, we are going to redirect those efforts here from now on. Given that this is our first entry, I thought I'd provide a brief description of the company itself, so here goes..

A little information about Azimuth

From Wikipedia:

An azimuth (en-us-azimuth.ogg ˈæzɪməθ ) is an angular measurement in a spherical coordinate system. The vector from an observer (origin) to a point of interest is projected perpendicularly onto a reference plane; the angle between the projected vector and the reference vector on the reference plane is called the azimuth.

We chose this name for the company as it reflects our unyielding drive to measure co-ordinates in spheres.

Azimuth is offering a range of specialized application security services. Primarily we are starting off with consulting, but we are currently developing some specialized training classes and product ideas that we will hopefully bring to market a little further on down the road. (Incidentally, if there is anything you would particularly like to see in our class material, let us know!)

Cheers,
Mark
